Religious Education Program

At the Heart of Jesus Maronite Catholic Church, we joyfully welcome families seeking to deepen their children’s faith and understanding of the Gospel through the beautiful heritage of the Maronite Church. Our Catechism Program, tailored for Pre-Communion, and Post-Communicant-aged children, provides a nurturing environment where faith, culture, and community come together. Classes are held weekly throughout the school year, and parents are encouraged to take an active role in their child’s formation through prayer, participation in the Divine Liturgy, and involvement in parish life.
Faith Formation Rooted in Maronite Tradition
The Heart of Jesus Maronite Religious Education Program offers a comprehensive faith formation experience deeply rooted in the rich theological and spiritual traditions of the Maronite Church, that nurtures a lifelong relationship with Christ through prayer, study, and participation in the Sacraments.
Sacramental Foundations
Children begin their journey with focused teachings on Baptism and Confirmation, emphasizing the distinctive Maronite practice of receiving these two Sacraments together upon entering the faith.
Through engaging lessons and interactive activities, students gain a deeper understanding of:
- The meaning and significance of the Seven Sacraments
- The Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit
- The lives of Maronite saints
- The Beatitudes as a guide to Christian living
Living the Faith
Our program encourages children to grow in holiness by integrating faith into daily life. Each class concludes with a period of Eucharistic Adoration before the Tabernacle, allowing students to reflect on the Divine Liturgy readings, homily, and catechetical teachings, strengthening their personal relationship with Jesus, and fostering reverence for the Divine Liturgy.
First Holy Communion & Reconciliation
A central milestone in the program is the preparation for and reception of First Holy Communion, preceded by the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This sacred celebration, closely united with the Crowning of Mary, the mother of God, will be held annually on the first Sunday of May.
Guided by Faith and Community
The Catechism Program at Heart of Jesus Parish is dedicated to forming young disciples who understand, cherish, and live their Maronite Catholic faith. Together with their families and the parish community, students are invited to grow in knowledge, love, and service to Christ and His Church.
MYO (Maronite Youth Organization)

The Maronite Youth Organization (MYO) at Heart of Jesus Maronite Catholic Church meets twice a month, offering young members a welcoming space to deepen their understanding of their faith and heritage. During these gatherings, the youth receive religious education focused on the Maronite Church, its rich traditions, liturgy, and spiritual values. Through these meetings, members strengthen their connection to their roots while growing in faith, fellowship, and a sense of belonging within the Church community.
Beyond spiritual formation, the MYO encourages its members to become active contributors to both the parish and the wider community. They participate in various service projects, assist in liturgical celebrations by serving at the Altar, and share their talents by singing with the Church Choir. In addition, the group takes part in regional and national MYO conferences, where they join other Maronite youth from across the country to celebrate their faith, build friendships, and develop leadership skills that help them live out their Christian mission in everyday life.
MYA (Maronite Young Adults)

The Maronite Young Adults (MYA) of our parish is a vibrant community of young men and women committed to growing in faith, fellowship, and service. We gather regularly for prayer, scripture reflection, and discussions that deepen our understanding of the Maronite spiritual tradition while helping us navigate the challenges of modern life. Our group plays an active role in parish liturgies, feast-day celebrations, and charitable initiatives, supporting the wider community with enthusiasm and purpose. Through Bible studies, guest speakers, and spiritual workshops, MYA seeks to strengthen each member's personal relationship with Christ and inspire a life rooted in the values of the Gospel. At its core, our mission is to build a supportive space where young adults can encounter God, grow together, and discern their individual callings.
Beyond spiritual formation, MYA organizes a variety of social and service-oriented events that bring our members closer together. From volunteering projects and community outreach to game nights, cultural gatherings, and outdoor activities, we focus on creating meaningful moments of connection and joy. We also host holiday celebrations, retreats, and collaborative events with neighboring parishes, enriching our sense of belonging within the larger Maronite family. Whether through acts of service or moments of fellowship, MYA strives to foster a spirit of unity, leadership, and Christian witness. We welcome all young adults who seek a deeper faith, lasting friendships, and a place to contribute to the life of the Church.
Lady's Guild

The Ladies Guild is a dedicated ministry committed to serving the parish through prayer, fellowship, and year-round charitable activities. Meeting on the first Wednesday of every month, the Guild plans events that support both the spiritual and social life of the parish. Throughout the liturgical year, the ladies prepare luncheons, organize special celebrations for major feasts, including St. Maron, the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Saint Charbel, and the Month of Our Lady, and assist with parish traditions such as First Communion, Mother’s Day, and Easter preparations. Their devotion is expressed not only through organizing gatherings but also through their presence at Lenten services, Holy Week liturgies, and other parish prayer events.
With the support of parishioners and the Men’s Committee, the Ladies Guild contributes to the parish through fundraising, hospitality, and hands-on service. They prepare meals, host the annual High Tea, coordinate the festive October Hafle, and provide seasonal decorations and baked goods for Christmas and Easter. Many of their efforts, such as cooking, hosting events, and decorating, are generously offered at no cost to the church, made possible by volunteers and donations. Through their work, the Ladies Guild strengthens community life, supports the parish financially, and fosters a spirit of unity, joy, and generosity in everything they do.
Men's Club
At the Heart of Jesus Maronite Catholic Church, we are men called to live our faith with conviction, purpose, and joy. Rooted in the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we unite in prayer, fellowship, and service, strengthening one another as brothers on our shared journey of faith.
Our mission is simple and profound: to support each other spiritually, to grow together in holiness, and to work side by side for the growth, vitality, and financial stability of our parish. We strive to build a welcoming community where every man is encouraged, uplifted, and inspired to live out the Gospel with courage and compassion.
Through shared prayer and meaningful fellowship, we form bonds that reflect the unity and love of Christ. Through dedicated service, we work to meet the needs of our church, assist our clergy, and nurture the life of our parish family.
In all we do, we seek to be faithful witnesses of Christ’s generosity, mercy, and steadfast love.
Everything we undertake is for the glory of God, the strengthening of our brotherhood, and the flourishing of our church community.
Choir

The idea of beginning a choir at Heart of Jesus Maronite Catholic Church began in December 2011, when Chorbishop Michael Thomas, with the help of several parishioners from the Broward County area, gathered a group of committed members to prepare for the parish’s inaugural Divine Liturgy, celebrated on January 6, 2012, the Feast of the Epiphany.
From the very beginning, the choir was built on generosity and faith. Parishioners lovingly donated all the essential items needed for worship, including music stands, microphones, a sound system, and a portable organ. The choir’s first home was on the east side of the church, before the statue of Jesus.
Since the inception of the Church, Chorbishop Thomas envisioned a dedicated mezzanine (choir loft) to enhance the liturgical experience. Through God’s providence, this vision became reality in 2017 when a generous parishioner donated the full cost of constructing the choir loft, complete with confessionals and storage rooms. Since then, the mezzanine has served as the choir’s permanent home, a space where their voices continue to uplift the hearts of all who worship at Heart of Jesus, filling our services with Liturgical Hymns sung in Arabic, English, and Syriac as well.
Family of Heart of Jesus

The Family of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a lay spiritual community dedicated to deepening our love for Christ and honoring His Most Sacred Heart. We gather before Mass on the first Sunday of every month to pray together and renew our consecration to the Sacred Heart, strengthening our commitment to live in His love and mercy.
Our devotion is rooted in the twelve promises revealed by our Lord to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, which continue to inspire us to live lives of faith, compassion, and reparation. As members, we offer our prayers in atonement for the offenses committed against the Sacred Heart, seeking to console Christ through our acts of love, humility, and service.
Each household in the Family of the Sacred Heart enthrones Jesus as the King and center of their homes, committing themselves to cultivate a spirit of virtue, peace, and charity in daily life. We join our prayers with those of Sacred Heart devotees throughout the world, forming a global community united in faith.
A small monthly collection is taken to support the needs of the Altar as well as various charitable initiatives, allowing our spiritual devotion to bear fruit in service to others.
